Know the details. For sure when you receive this kind of email the person who sent it to you will indicate his name on the mail. Try searching for his name first. Most likely, you will not get information about this person.

Step 2
Since the name on the email is not eligible. Do the unthinkable – use his email address to search on the web. If he is using a Google or Yahoo email account – search for his email address on these websites. Chances are, you will find out the name registered under this email address.

Step 3
Next is Find a website that will not charge you a fee to search for email address. One of the sites that you may use is the internetaddressbook.com. This site will be able to help you search for the email address that was used and will give you the information that you will need.

Email addresses are commonly used and are most likely to be posted on different websites. There are different email addresses that you can find on different sites online like blogs, home pages, and others. If you are searching for a certain email address and this email address is posted on a certain site, then you may be very lucky. You can just go to a major search engine like Yahoo or Google and search for the email address that you have and make sure that you have quotation marks around the email address that you have. This can make your search limited and that the search engine will only search for the exact address that you entered.

The different search engines that you can use are Ask.com, MSN.com, and Bing.com. Some search engines can not give you the same result that one can give so it is always safe to do your search different engines.

There are some email providers that allow their users to make their own profile. And if the email address that you have belongs to any of the providers online, you may go directly to their website and get the information that you need about the person who owns the email address that you are searching for. One example of an email provider that allows users to participate in certain groups is Yahoo. This can allow a person to post profiles for other users who are also members to see.
Although the methods mentioned may be time consuming most especially if the email address you have is not on a site. This may mean that you may not use any of the methods given, however, you may use another method and that is thru social networking.

This may also take time, but if you have an email address with you, it may be easier than what you think. All you need to do is sign up for any of the social networking sites like Friendster, Facebook or MySpace – of course you may not know as to which site is the person signed up to and may have difficulty going thru each social sites one at a time – what you can do is use mylife. This is by far the greatest public directory that I have encountered and the best site in existence. It is very inexpensive and you do not have to be cautious of any ‘catch’ that most sites have. I strongly recommend this site. The only problem with Intelius is that it has a weird billing operation that will just sign you up on certain programs and if you do not do the cancelling manually – you will be charged on your credit card monthly. Because of this, a lot of people have reported the site to be a scam – which is not true but if this happens to you, you would think so too. Even after such – there are still a lot of companies that utilize the ‘forced program continuously’ which makes a lot of people complain. Although, it is very legal.

Searching Tips:

Try not to misspell the name that you are searching for when entering it into the search fields of the search engines mentioned above. These sites do not spell check the names.

Go thru the person’s list of friends and search for people who have the same family name, top friends, look thru the comments of the person’s profile and photo comments. Find out the school that the person has attended and the other communities that the person has joined to be a member of.

4. Use the name to do a background check on the person

There are different sites that you can use to do this. The site that I normally use is US search.

Now all you have to do is use the name or the age of the person since you already know these information and details thru the person’s profile. And then make use of the information that you have in step 3 so you can limit your search for the person from other people in the results that will be given to you.

You will see results of possible family members and you can use this by comparing it with the list that you have gathered or you may also use the other information that you have gathered like the locations of the person. Once you find the person – do a background check report for the person – this may cost a very minimal amount so don’t fret.

So this is how you can find out anything about the person by just having their email address. Amazing yet kinda frightening right?

Now if you do not have the luxury of paying for a fee, you may do your search in whitepages.com so you can at least have the person’s phone number or the address – still amazing right?

Just remember that you can only have these information if the person who owns the email address has a social networking profile – which most of the population these days have.
