I’ve been searching around for any trace of my Great Grandfather.But I can’t find any trace of him anywhere, I’ve tried most sites suggested here but none of them have any real matches. I’m going to continue looking, but any help would be appreciated from anyone.
His name is James Rice, His father is Edward Rice, his mother Cath(erine?)(thats what is written on the Baptism Certificate), the birthday is unreadable on the Baptism Certificate, but he was baptised on July 28th in 1895, at St Macartan’s Catholic Church, Loughinisland, in County Down.
Many people have told me that records in the North are harder to find as many of them were destroyed in the troubles, is this true?
