Do a military people search- like this! Easy.

If you are looking for a brother in arms or someone else, this is the article for you. The internet has really changed the way that we can go about finding people and I will explain how it works now. The site that I recommend (in step 4) is a people search engine called mylife.

Step 1: Many regular people search websites have their own links to military personnel listings, but there are those that are made exclusively for this purpose. To make it easier for you, start from search engines and type in “military search”. A list of familiar sounding terms should come up such as gisearch.com, militarysearch.org, militaryconnections.com, among others.

Step 2: Use specific gov’t unit websites
If you’re looking for someone in the Airforce for example, this, including other units of the military has its own website. You will need to start from a search engine and type in those specific keywords to get to the right website, for example, “US Navy Seals”. Links in the homepages allows you to search for their active and veteran members.

Step 3: Title
Know exactly what the person you are looking for does. Just “in the army” is not enough. What is the person’s position?

Step 4: Do an advanced people search. There is a great site that is available that will search through all the social networking sites online to find whoever you are looking for. It’s called mylife. This is a great place to look for a military buddy/family member as well since they are probably looking to connect to other people via the web.
